The dune system at Luskentyre beach on the Isle of Harris is a treasure trove of dynamic compositional treats. Constantly changing and subjected to the ferocious weather systems that cross the Atlantic Ocean unhindered by any significant body of land. Patterns emerge in waves of varying colours of sand. Small tussocks of grasses, themselves delicate, are all that hold the system together. The simplicity or the landscape here is juxtapositioned against the complexity of the composition. All I feel is a revitalisation of my soul in this environment.
