This image a metaphor for what I was feeling the day it was created as well as the conditions themselves. Shot at the wonderfully atmospheric Elgol on the Isle of Skye. Even now, many years later, the sense of drama in this image hits me at my emotional core. A swirling anger and a dark mood set against the exhilarating backdrop of something greater than oneself, the Black Cuillin in this case. I can smell the sea, taste the air, feel the wind on my face. It was electric.
The Tempest in this context is also a song title from Mike Oldfield's orchestral album 'Music of the Spheres'. Kind of fits given the spherical rock too...
