STORM is a series of 28 animations that draws inspiration from the winter storms of the Pacific North West. Using a digital moiré technique, each animation interprets atmospheric forces (rain, wind, ice & snow) as kinetic, pixelated abstractions. As with much of my work, STORM is focused on expressing notions of landscape through patterns. Each work translates impressions of atmospheric elements using a minimal visual language and a 6-tone greyscale palette.
