badges, bags, bonuses —
 earned stripes, rites of passage promotions, pleasantries
 platitudes and plaques drinking from the firehose, heads down, pencils up. underwater, fire drill. keeping the lights on — wearing a lot of hats nametags, nomenclature, paychecks and policies are signs of belief — signs that someone saw your potential and had your back. even if it wasn’t a fit, badges are gifts that we shouldn’t be so quick to dismiss. they represent the value of compound interest
