In the early 1970s, before Bill's career took off, the cast of SNL heard about a stuffy party happening in New York and decided to crash it. Bill reminisced, "It was the biggest party of many years. It was harder to get into than Fort Knox. The party was in a newish subway line, so it was clean enough. It turned out that the event caterers also worked in the kitchen where we were doing our National Lampoon show. So we snuck in through the kitchen. To make us seem legit, we served ourselves, and with plate in hand, I ran directly into Andy Warhol."
