A friend of mine asked whether I am coming to Kannur to watch Theyyam,I was so excited and said yes. Theyyam (Teyyam, Theyam or Theyyattam) is a popular ritual form of dance worship in Kerala and Karnataka. Theyyam consists of thousand-year-old traditions, rituals and customs. The people of these districts consider Theyyam itself as a channel to a god and they thus seek blessings from Theyyam. Last time I went to see theyyam it was Kandanar Kelan Theyyam it was early morning around 3am.But this time I got to see Kannangattu Bhagavathi Theyyam it was in the day time so there was enough light.I started to play with light and shadows and finaly got this Photograph.
