The hell of Dante

in the "divine Comedy", the poet Dante Alighieri travels across the underworld guided by the Roman poet Virgil, in search for Beatrice, his beloved one. In the first part of this trilogy, he travels across the hell thought the infernal circles, and they found in each circle the tortured souls of sinners suffering different punishments and grotesque mythological creatures guarding the hell.
