In slice 7 you see 2 things that are synonymous with Amsterdam. Bridges and trams. Also, this is the river Amstel and it is due to this river that Amsterdam is called Amsterdam. You see, the Amstel was here before the city and when settlers started coming here they were building little settlements alongside the Amstel. It wasn't until much later that when the Amstel overflowed, a dam was built (Damrak) and the city started to form into what we know today. Take Amstel, take Dam, and the name Amsterdam was born.
