Westerkerk
The fourth slice in this collection is one of the oldest structures in Amsterdam. The Westerkerk was built between 1621 and 1630 in a renaissance style. The church is located in the Jordaan, which is one of my favorite places to visit when going into the city. I wanted to create an imposing image of the church, an image with a lot of contrasting features. During the day this would have been very difficult, but seeing as how the church is lit up during the night and this creates a contrasting divide against the darker backdrop, I figured this would be the best way.
