Rise Above The Cage

Each Rise Above It piece shows a metaphorical image of something me the artist had to overcome to take the photo. We are all locked in a cage. A cage of our own construction. A cage in the form of a job, a house, a social role, routine, relationship, ritual or idea. Rooftopping and urban exploration is an act of breaking out of that cage. Discarding social conditioning and laws to experience an outpost of our society which feels like we are playing outside the map of a video game. This is where i come to break free from the cages constructed around me every day. The place where my eyes and spirit can see the horizon, to know where I am. /EM1T
