**Home Savings Bank Building** **Art by:** Chris Hytha **Story by:** Mark Houser Brightly painted glazed terracotta panels crowning this highrise show an early Dutch settler in military helmet and a member of the Mohican tribe, which lived in the area when Europeans first arrived. Between and below them are stylized flowers and other decorations in deep blue, yellow, and ocher. The panels are by Rene Chambellan, a leading Art Deco architectural sculptor. His work also embellishes the State Office Tower in town, as well as more famous skyscrapers including the American Radiator Building in Manhattan, Tribune Tower in Chicago, and Buffalo City Hall.
