Indulgent Mood

This lake has given me some of my most memorable photography moments. You just never know what it is going to do. Bluebird skies give way to dramatic clouds, and they in turn give way to crystal clear stars. This day grey clouds had hung around low in the sky and just wouldn’t lift. I had almost give up when for a short time they cleared for this reflection before once again hiding everything from view. I love the drama of this image. It is intense mood. Quite unusual for the clouds to be so dense, yet still have the landscape clear. The foreground water had been frozen and was starting to thaw which just adds an extra layer of intrigue.
