Fanned Ficifolia

The Fanned Ficifolia, is a unique flowering gum endemic to coastal regions. The hardy blossoms serve a functional role in protecting the pearl pollination station for bees. The blue blossom attracts pollinators, and when it senses a predator, “fan” open and harden into protective spikes, warding predators from the pearl station.
