Dive #4/10

Dive came to be a little later in the process. The chillwave movement was in full swing and I was inspired by the ‘80s sounds of contemporaries like Com Truise and Washed Out. This was a very beat driven song, it started out with just the drums played on a sampler. I then built it up using mostly software synths, which had just started to become convincing enough to use in lieu of the real thing. After the success of the Hours session with Zac he came back out to play on top of Dive and wrote a catchy guitar melody that instantly transformed the song into a beachy kind of pop jam.
