A monster lurks within my soul
A part of me I used to cower and control
But now I see it in a different light
It's a part of me, and that's alright
I let it roam, I let it be
I invite it in, to set it free
I stand before my church, unsteady and bare
And realize the monster's just a part of who I am, it's not a scare
I embrace it, I make it mine
I accept all parts, the beast and the divine
For by loving every aspect of ourselves
We can live a life without any shelf
On which to place our shadows and our fears
We can live a life that's free from tears.
