I was jolted awake at 4:25am by a loud crack of thunder. Followed by a flash, then another and another. I grabbed my phone to check the weather radar and then checked the real time lightning map. A storm cell was moving across the area. However, I needed to be at work at 6:30. I laid down but then another bright flash and immediately after a loud crash. The storm was right overhead.
That’s all it took, I was up. I grabbed my camera gear and was out of the house. The plan was to stop at a local park and snag a few shots and then head straight to work.
This is what I captured.
