Chaos Engine

When the forces of nature clash head on, the transfer of energy can be palpable. The stirred ocean moves with so much underlying power that when it hits the submerged granite reefs off the east coast of Australia, some spectacular displays of abstract art are formed. With deep chasms, rippling colours and explosions of froth as waves implode in on themselves and the rebounding energy off solid rock tries to escape in any chaotic direction it can. Putting my drone and myself into these places during big swells is a massive rush and this image is a stern reminder of how unpredictable these conditions can be.
