Fifteen years ago, John Kapellas became allergic to artificial and natural light. Doctors have no idea what caused the sudden and severe photosensitivity. Since then, John has lived life by the light of a single flashlight in a small dark apartment in San Francisco. About seven years into this dark period, doctors gave John a medication which unleashed a series of suicidal ideations and, as a coping mechanism, he began drawing circles on everything (his walls, his ceilings, his various home objects, etc) to still his mind and stay alive. Most objects which populate his home are now covered with circles and these images are the textures for 3D scans of some of his embellished objects.
