Drummer girl

This work is based on photographs taken in my home instrument room, using photo-tracing techniques. I struggled a lot with it because it is a style of composition that I don't usually do at all. In Japan, five years ago, a drum magazine declared 10 October as 'Drum Day'. This was so designated because, from the drummer's point of view, it is a sequence of sticks, snare drums, sticks and floor toms. This piece is a tribute to that anniversary. Personally, I think the work is a taste of two things: the bold composition and the various small objects cluttering the room.
