🌱 Originating in southeastern Europe, pears are now grown all over the word. In the United States, pears are mostly grown on the west coast, with Washington and Oregon producing the largest amount of pears. This juicy and FRESH fruit ripen the best once they’re removed from the tree. Varying in size, shape, sweetness, and crispness, there are over 3,000 varieties of pears, with the Bartlett pear being the most common. In the past, pears were known as “butter fruit” for its soft and butter-like texture. 🌱 Fun fact: Pears are considered a hypoallergenic fruit because allergies to this fruit are extremely rare.
