I have always loved this wreck in Iceland, I have walked 7km at night in winter to get to this place and every time I am amazed by the wonder of the northern lights. In this photo I was watching this wonder unfold before my eyes. That's why I wish that everyone who looks at this photo can feel the same emotion that I felt.
Story: On November 24, 1973 a US Navy Douglas Super DC-3 was forced to make an emergency landing on the remote beach of Sólheimasandur in south-west Iceland. The entire crew survived the impact and made it to safety, but the aircraft was abandoned on the place.
