Kalk Bay is a small fishing village near the southwestern tip of Africa. It's a super cool neighbourhood. It's where I was born and raised.
Kalk Bay is situated in False Bay, a relatively calm and peaceful, enclosed bay protected from the fierce Atlantic storms. On occasion though, when all the elements line up, we get some ferocious wave action in the bay. It's at times like these that the harbour wall, and on occasion the small, wooden, fishing boats, take a beating.
It's at times like these I grab my camera. The energy is off the charts, the wind howls, the sea spray stings your eyes. It's all-out ocean energy. It feeds my soul.
This one is titled Mother and Child.
