Having been eliminated by Detroit in the Conference Finals the previous year, Miami made it a point to start hot, winning 3 of the series’ first 4 games to take a 3-1 lead. After dropping Game 5 in Detroit, the HEAT returned home to clinch its first-ever Eastern Conference Championship behind Jason Williams’ 21-point performance, which included a perfect 10/10 shooting start.
