Elements is a collection of 48 detail and abstract images created over many years by pointing my camera predominantly down when the weather or circumstances didn't favour grand vistas or eye burning sunsets. Retreating into my own creativity for mental solace, I looked for features in the 'smaller' landscape, that spoke or sang to me. Eliminating the surroundings removes, for the most part, any sense of scale. Some of the subjects of these images measure only centimetres across, others, metres or even hundreds of metres.

Elements includes images of Wood, Rock, Water and Ice. Air is obviously present in each image but represented in the tiering system of Nitrogen, Oxygen and Argon, the main components of the atmosphere we breathe.

I hope when viewing these images you may begin to sense the calmness and serenity I felt whilst creating them. Often disappearing for hours at a time into my own thoughts. All are single frames, no focus stacking, relying on my own camera craft to create.
