Although this image does not show the daytime colors that can be found at Summit Lake in Lassen National Park, it does show the beauty in a different light. With Lassen having nearly no light pollution, astrophotography is just a must. Summit lake is usually perfectly calm, which makes for incredible reflections like this one. But unfortunately, the trees that are on the south side of the lake, which are shown in this image, are now charred black sticks. They will no longer look like the beautiful pines they once were. But now they provide new beauty, beauty that I cannot wait to capture under the Milky Way again.
