The south entrance to Lassen National Park is quick to boast its beauty as soon as you enter. This sulfur bank with the river running through right under the mountains is one of the first things you will see when you drive through Lassen. This image was captured in the winter when the park road is closed, meaning we had to walk up to this location. Which I enjoy more than driving. There are no cars to worry about while standing at this location. I am not sure you could even capture this in the summer when the road is open. But as of July of 2021, this area is burned. The Dixie fire came through here leaving very little standing. This composition won't look the same ever again in our lifetime...
