Born out of the need to document my personal experience of loneliness, migration, happiness, and vulnerability during a significant period of my life, I painted The Sky Looks At You. This collection includes a remarkable selection of hand-drawn art.

Many of the pieces were created from spontaneous inspiration while in nature and staring at the sky, from vulnerable moments in the shower, and while waiting for the train at the metro station. 

The Sky is the theme that binds the pieces together because the Sky reminds us of the universe and how colorful or dark life can be. Joyful, sad, thinking, searching, afraid, alone, crying, dancing, living, breathing. The Sky Looks At You.

The Sky Looks At You

With a baton in hand, swinging to the beat of four-four. 1, 2, 3, 4, I, 2, 3, 4.  Louder! your eyes screamed, not a word said but everyone in the orchestra did play louder. To understand music, one has to drive it. So they say, and you did.

I made this painting when I recorded a group of young musicians, their conductor reminded me of myself and all the times I spent learning how to play the guitar and violin, and the courage it takes to stand in front of your peers and direct them.
