Oni lily is a perennial herb of the lily family that blooms in summer and produces numerous orange-red flowers with spots.
It is characterized by the presence of a bulb at the base of its leaves, and its scaly stem is edible as "lily root.
The name "onyuri" comes from the orange-red color of the flowers and the outwardly curved petals, which resemble a red devil.
Even today, farmers grow onyuri in their gardens as a remnant of the days when it was used as an emergency food source.
