A picturesque, traditional village in Cyprus. A maze of cobbled streets, shops filled with intricate lace and embroidery, elderly craftsmen proudly beckon you into their workshops and glorious stone-built buildings with many tales to tell about years gone by.  As women gather on their doorsteps and exchange stories of the day with animated banter, this is one of the few villages on the island where you can sit and watch tradition come to life, as village lace embroidery is still made the way it was years ago. The gorgeous embroidery is included on UNESCO’s Representative List of Intangible Culture Heritage. Even Leonardo da Vinci visited the village in 1481 and purchased lace here!
