This image was captured in June 2021 while I was traveling across Iowa. I had noticed the skies to my NW turning dark and decided to stop and look at the radar. As luck would have it, there was one storm cell on the radar and it was heading towards me.
I decided to put myself in a position to intercept the storm head on. My hope was that the storm would present itself with a shelf cloud and plenty of texture. I was blown away as this storm approached and it took on more of a Mothership supercell structure, complete with some striations . I was hit with high winds, hail, and heavy rain because of my decision to park right in it's path, but I think it was worth it!
