Artist: Scott Mills Edition: 1/1 Collection Statement: There are many types of color combinations, but split tone (two complementary colors) represents to me a pinnacle of photography as it pertains to art. The desaturation of color is an ode to the black and white origins of photography as an artistic medium. Contrast also serves to emphasize the elements of composition, the subject placement, the framing, the geometry, etc.. Blue as a color represents for me the environment and the atmosphere. If the frame is an aquarium the blues are the ocean. The warm colors that offset the blue should draw the eye into the excitement of the frame with a subject destination.
