Star and subject of the 2020 Sundance documentary 'Mucho, Mucho Amor', Walter Mercado, was a household name in Puerto Rico where his astrology readings became a beloved part of daily life, while his gender non-conforming presentation allowed queer folk to feel more at home in their own skin. As a frequent fixture on Univision, and awarded the title of Mr Televisión in ‘86, he later changed his name to Shanti Ananda further adding to his spiritual mystique and ethereal image. This celestial costume features one of his 1500 flamboyant capes and his perfectly coiffed pompadour reaching right to the heavens.
