The fourth state is an oil painting on canvas (293×545 cm) by the Italian painter Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo, made from 1898 to 1901 and kept at the Museo del Novecento in Milan.The fourth state depicts a group of labourers marching in protest in a square, presumably the Malaspina of Volpedo.
