The Punk Currency is a single-edition series of 10 animated GIFs, it’s the first tokenised digital artwork set produced by British artist and designer Scott-Antony Marks.
Using a numerical scrambling interface to randomise a 100-colour grid, the information then enters a rigid middle out sequence determining its fade speed and opacity.
Punk Currency is blatant in pipette hijacking the colour palette from the coveted ‘CryptoPunks’ series by Larva Labs, it also references the ‘one colour per artwork’ production within Damian Hirst’s – The Currency.
