**Secret Artist #23 — Vessel**
The Ship of Theseus was a thought experiment about the founder of Athens’ vessel. It was proposed by contemporary philosophers who asked something along the lines of: if the Ship of Theseus steadily had all its parts replaced one-by-one over time, would it still be the same vessel? Would it still be right to refer to it as The Ship of Theseus?
The fact that the human body replaces most of its cells many times throughout our lives has led people to wonder something similar about the self. To what extent can we say we are the same person as the one we were when we were born?
My feeling is that we cannot say this, and that we are, in fact, not the same person....
