Winter is the time of year where it seems like most things slow down. It's the time of year where everything almost goes completely quiet, at least in nature. The snow is a soft, cold blanket that covers nature, hiding it, muffling it. When you get to walk around and theres snow on the ground, stop and listen, listen to the silence. It is nature telling us maybe it's better to keep quiet, and let things be. Yes there may be storms ahead, but there are also sunny days as well. When it's all settled, it remains calm, not a sound to be heard.
I don't believe that nature really has anything to say here other than: "Be still, be calm, and reserve your speech for when it is needed."
