Oviedo in Blue is one of earliest Torqued Paintings. The series began in 1998 and has continued to develop over time. The series gets its name from the 'torqued' nature of the surface which curves because of the way the frame has been constructed with alternating depths. When canvas is stretched overtop it results in a torqued surface.
