Shot at a remote rural corner of Bengal on a very cold winter morning, this photograph is an example of how the expanse of smoke emanating out of an elderly man’s cigar is exaggerated owing to the magic of Natural light creeping in through the plantation. While smoking is injurious to health, elderly gentlemen are often seen smoking locally manufactured “beedis” made out of local fibres and it’s almost like a morning chore for most apart from sipping tea.
