Genesis NFT by Kelly Chilton Rise Above is painted in the spontaneous style of Chinese Brush Painting, xiěyì 寫意. Because of the muddy conditions in which it grows, the lotus, which has a stem unlike it's cousin the water lily, is a symbol of enlightenment for rising above the muck. In addition, the lotus shows growth in progress, enlightenment reached and still growing. The lower leaf is the youngest, going up in age and maturity to the oldest leaf at the top, including two unfurled young leaves again up top, as well as the opened flowers reaching up to another unopened bud.
