Kenya Metamorphosis

I am selecting pieces I have done in the years 2013-2021 in the hope of finding my style. This piece is among around 20 others in this style. This one was done in 2014-2015 at a time when I was still in college. I was envisioning a metamorphosis in my country; a period of change and to me Kenya was a land full of opportunities. My lecturer and artist (G.Z.O Nyotumba) once asked our class whether we would like to go abroad in the USA for example in search for greener pastures. Mine was the only No answer and yes, the why is I saw a lot of potential right here in 3rd world. Today? I still see the potential, only not in the way I saw it back then.
