Osteogenesis imperfecta colloquially known as brittle bone disease, is a group of genetic disorders that all result in bones that break easily. 1 in 15,000–20,000 people is affected by that disease. Depending on type of OI the life expectancy varies from normal to a few weeks or years. All people suffering from it need lifelong medical care.
