Jake has been called to investigate a murder, it is rare for samurai to be called out to these. Except in this instance it is his partner who is the victim. Throughout his investigation Jake will be forced to reconcile his past mistakes and overcome his problems to ultimately make a decision between saving himself and seeing justice served.
