Augochlora pura, worker bee

The metallic Augochlora pura is a solitary bee from east of the Rocky Mountains. Augochlora pura doesn’t have a common name, but who needs one when your scientific name means ‘pure golden green’! Two major contributors of colony decline or collapse is queen bee loss and Varroa destructor mites.
