It was believed that he had a very important function - he had to resurrect people from temporary death - sleep - and drive away spiritual illnesses from them. Without the rooster’s cry, no caravan that stopped at the monastery would set off. The prophet, also, can bring light to one’s darkness, by the wisdom and experience of their life. Following the prophet blindly is never the prophet’s will. A true prophet leads the way, but never rules other people’s lives.
