Sydney always wanted to perform at the Sydney Opera House. She fell in love with opera as a child but, discouraged by her parents, she decided to go to college and pursue a “sensible” career as an accountant. After twenty years of being utterly uninspired by her work she had a chance meeting with Cantor, a folk singer who often performed at the coffee house up the street from her office.
Cantor shared how difficult it was to pursue a creative career path. She, too, had tried to please her parents and had trained to be a pharmacist.
