The Nebuta Festival is one of the major festivals in the Tohoku region. The Nebuta which takes several months to create mainly by Nebuta artists are very energetic, but those that do not win an award are broken up on the last night of the festival by the decision of the individual groups. As a member of 3600 YAKO myself, this was my first time participating in the Nebuta Festival and experiencing the process of disassembling the Nebuta. Watching team members actually disassemble the Nebuta, I felt a sense of fragility as I realized that these few days of the festival would be the first and last time all 17 Nebuta groups would come together in one place and that it would never happen again.
