Walking down memory street
I see a road full of love and life
Pot holes of strife I’ve avoided
Have made me think twice
But mostly its sweet
With tiger lilies growing
On the green to the right of me
At night, street lamps light the way
The city’s in the distance whirring
With persistence and trains
That remained calm through the chaos
Chitter chatter down tracks that were once over sown
Carrying people back towards home
And now I’m strolling
Looking at the view in pieces
Strung together at peace with
All that’s behind and in front of me
Where beauty is all that I feel
& the air is crisp like crystal waters
