Rescue, respite, or reunion; whatever your intention the Hong Kong Taxi is always there for you (except at 430pm). The opportunities a great public transport system engender are a great benefit of city life, and ideas in this area are one of my ongoing photographic subjects.
In this photograph I shot multiple Hong Kong taxis on Queen's Road Central. I overlapped the frames in-camera by only winding the film on half the normal amount in an old Mamiya Press camera from the 1960's. I digitised the entire roll and in this version have animated it to express the brilliant intensity of life on the streets of Hong Kong.
