Urutau Nictibian, or ghost bird, is known for its cry similar to a human lament, and is rarely seen during the day. Urutau Nictibian is known to spend its days hanging out in branches where it is well-camouflaged by its patchy brown and grey feathers. But at night is known to come alive as it hunts for insects along its territory, which is at the edge of forests, riverbanks, and other areas with pockets of trees. This bird is found throughout Central and South America. The Urutau Nictibian comes from the family Nyctibiidae, which are a group of Caprimulgiformes birds closely related to the nightjars and frogmouths.
But perhaps the one thing it is best known for, is its ghostly call.
