Jøken extracts objects from mundane contexts Inspired by urban and comic art, Korneel draws his subjects from life as a father and regular guy moving through the streets, nature, and the internet. “In the past period of a few years, I started a new series of comic art paintings. For these works I decided to be more intuitive and use my skills as a painter as well as a cartoonist and let humor and absurdism flow onto the materials. I took foodpackages, wrappingpaper and even canvas to paint on. The collection started growing and I managed to sell the works and ship them around the world.
